How a job usually goes
No two jobs are identical, but this is the usual shape of one.
-
Tell us what needs doing
Call, or send the details through the form. If you have a list rather than one job, send the whole list.
-
We agree a time
We come back to you to confirm a day and a window. We do not book you in automatically, because we would rather commit to a time we can make.
-
You get a price before we start
For anything beyond a small repair we scope the work and quote it. If we find something bigger behind a small problem, we stop and tell you.
-
We do the work and clear up
Including the parts that are easy to skip: texture matched before painting, heavy fittings anchored into structure, and the mess taken away.
Turning a rental around between tenants
An empty property costs money every week, so the constraint on a turnaround is usually the calendar rather than the budget.
Paint throughout, flooring, fixtures, hardware, rekeying and the accumulated small damage of a tenancy, scoped as one job rather than a dozen separate visits. Tell us the date you need it ready for and we will tell you honestly whether it is achievable before we start.

One licensed contractor instead of four
Most houses need a bit of plumbing, a bit of electrical, some drywall and a coat of paint. Calling a separate specialist for each one means four schedules, four callout charges and four people to chase.
The licence covers residential remodeling and painting, which is what lets one visit deal with a list rather than a single line on it.
Some work needs a specialist licence and is the exception: re-piping, sewer lines, panel upgrades and new circuits. We say so before booking rather than after.
Common questions
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Select Home Service LLC holds CSLB licence #1072987, classifications B-2 (Residential Remodeling) and C-33 (Painting and Decorating), and the business is bonded and insured. You can check any contractor licence yourself at cslb.ca.gov.
What are your hours?
Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 5:30. We do not run an out of hours callout service, and we would rather say so plainly than have you wait on a Sunday evening for a reply that is not coming.
Do you take small jobs?
Yes, and it is usually better to group them. Send the whole list when you call. Getting through it in one visit costs less than arranging a visit for each item.
Do you work for landlords?
Regularly. Turnarounds between tenants, ongoing maintenance and repairs on occupied units. Tell us the date the property needs to be ready and we will tell you before we start whether it is achievable.
Is there anything you will not take on?
Yes. Re-piping, sewer lines, panel upgrades and new circuits are the work of a plumbing or electrical contractor, not a handyman scope. We will tell you when a job is one of those rather than finding out halfway through.
Which areas do you cover?
We are based in Palmdale, California and work across the Antelope Valley. If you are not sure whether we reach you, call and ask rather than guessing.
